The new Jeep Compass vehicles of the Guardia Civil join the traffic surveillance duties
The Guardia Civil’s Traffic Unit updates its vehicle fleet with the addition of 140 SUVs
The SUV craze has reached the State’s security forces. From now on, the Traffic Unit will also patrol in the new Jeep Compass vehicles of the Guardia Civil joining its fleet.
The version of the Jeep Compass used by the Guardia Civil is the one fitted with the 1.4 MultiAir 2 petrol engine, capable of producing 170 CV and featuring all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic gearbox. According to its homologated data, this engine returns a combined consumption of 9.4 litres of fuel per 100 km and, naturally, complies with current emissions legislation Euro 6 D and qualifies for the green sticker, labelled C under the DGT classification.
This engine also determines the price of the Guardia Civil Jeep Compass vehicles. According to the brand’s configurator, the most basic version of the Jeep Compass 1.4 MultiAir 2 starts at 38,280 euros.
In addition, these vehicles include the exclusive equipment that the benemérita’s cars usually feature. Thus, this new generation of Guardia Civil Jeep Compass vehicles stands out for a new high-intensity lighting system on the roof, alongside the usual the feared foldable messaging panel located on the rear windscreen.

Who needs an SUV to patrol?
These Guardia Civil Jeep Compass vehicles, belonging to the department in charge of traffic surveillance, are not only designed to be effective on tarmac but also, thanks to the Jeep Active Drive all-wheel drive together with the Selec-Terrain system, adapt their response to the characteristics of the terrain.
Thus, in situations where driving becomes complicated, thanks to the optimised distribution of torque between the axles, these vehicles guarantee grip in challenging conditions for other cars that have not been designed to move off the pavement.

A tradition within the Guardia Civil
Following the addition of the new Guardia Civil Jeep Compass vehicles, it should be recalled that this is not the first time the benemérita has turned to the manufacturer of off-road vehicles and crossovers Jeep to add vehicles suited to the needs of its agents.
Back in 2016, the Guardia Civil incorporated no less than one of the most iconic models in the Jeep family, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, a legendary off-roader with more than 25 years of history on the market, joining the long list of cars with off-road capabilities that have carried the corps’ insignia.
