The new Nissan Z will be unveiled as a prototype at the Tokyo Motor Show
This concept could feature a hybrid 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine producing up to 500 CV. The successor to the current 370Z will reach the market in 2019.
Nissan appears to be on the verge of renewing one of its most sporty models aimed at enthusiasts: the 370Z. The current version of the Japanese sports car began production in 2009 and is starting to need an update to avoid falling behind. Its replacement will arrive in the form of a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show in October.

The design of the new Z concept will adopt a more dynamic styling language based on the restyling of the 2017 GT-R, including a wider and more imposing front grille. The proportions of this prototype will be similar to those of the current 370Z, but the redesigned roof, rear doors and bonnet will make it a different model.
As for engines, the concept could receive three types of powertrain. The base engine would be a 3.0-litre V6 with 300 CV and 295 Nm of torque. The second engine could be the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 currently used in the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport; this engine produces 400 CV and 350 Nm of torque. Both engines would be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Finally, Nissan could round off the engine range with a hybrid version made possible by combining a V6 petrol engine with an electric motor; this unit could deliver approximately 500 CV of power.

The production version of the prototype that Nissan will launch at the Tokyo Motor Show will reach the market in 2019.
