Toyota could debut a Supra concept at the Tokyo Motor Show
The Toyota Supra Concept bases its design on the FT-1 concept presented in early 2014.
The arrival of a new Toyota Supra is an open secret, and according to several outlets it will debut as a concept at the Tokyo International Motor Show in October.
According to the latest information, the new Supra would be based on the design of the FT-1 concept shown in early 2014. It would therefore be a coupe version with a far less conservative style than that of the recently refreshed GT86.

Toyota is developing the new Supra together with BMW, and the powertrain it will use is still unknown. However, it is speculated that it may offer three engine options: a 2-litre turbo engine producing 255 CV and a 3-litre V6 turbo unit with 340 CV. A 2.5-litre hybrid engine could be added to the range later on.
As for the German twin of the Supra, the BMW Z5, it could debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of this year. This model would use the brand’s turbocharged inline four- and six-cylinder engines. It would also incorporate a series of carbon fibre components from the i3 and i8.

Beyond the new Supra, Toyota will also debut two other prototypes in Tokyo. The first of these, the S-FR IIa with a 2-litre turbo engine and 250 CV, is a 2015 concept based on a smaller version of the GT86. The second concept is a sporty version of the Corolla GTI that could receive a turbo engine of 2 litres and 250 CV.
