The Nismo PlayStation® GT Academy is back
The Nismo PlayStation® GT Academy is back, an opportunity offered by both Nissan and PlayStation® to become professional racing drivers through Gran Turismo 6.

Are you a Gran Turismo fan? Would you like to become a professional racing driver? Now you can make it happen thanks to the sixth edition of GT Academy. Nissan and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have announced that online qualifying will begin on April 21 through Gran Turismo 6.
The Nismo PlayStation GT Academy is back, and with it, a great opportunity for Gran Turismo players to become professional racing drivers under the banner of Nissan and follow in the footsteps of previous winners, who currently compete in Japan’s Super GT, the GP3 Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
As you already know, the qualifying phase will be part of a free update for Gran Turismo 6, and the fastest players in each territory will take part in the regional final stages. In addition, several competitors will also be able to access these final stages through a series of live Gran Turismo events, organized locally and through a special GT6 game on Facebook. The National Finals will consist of driving tests, fitness tests and skills tests with the game’s media.

After the National Finals, the chosen ones will travel to Silverstone, where the competitors will get behind the wheel of the most sporty cars of Nissan under the watchful eye of the prestigious judges. The winner of each edition will be invited to join Nissan’s Driver Development Program and will later be able to obtain a license to compete at international level, before becoming Nismo athletes.
This year there will be editions for Europe, Germany, the USA and the new International GT Academy, made up of Australia, India, the Middle East, Mexico and Thailand. Aspiring drivers will train for three intensive months as in previous editions and also, in this edition the five best winners of GT Academy 2014 will receive, as a prize, the chance to take part in the 24 Hours of Dubai, next January.
Since its first edition in 2008, millions of people have fought to earn a place in Nissan as a driver for the Nismo racing brand. Its first winner, Lucas Ordóñez, is competing in the Japanese Super GT championship and, this summer, will share the innovative Nissan ZEOD RC at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the 2012 GT Academy winner, the Belgian Wolfgang Reip.
Now it’s your turn. Will you be able to be one of them? I encourage you to try.
