Citroen Mitsubishi Electric Cars Compact Industry
The pricing dilemma between Citroën's electric cars and Mitsubishi

The business relationship between the manufacturers began last year, and a few months later reports about a possible joint venture were circulating, even leading us to think the alliance could be consolidated; however, at the beginning of this month it was officially reported that forming a company was not viable, so they would only keep negotiating a few points in common.
It seems that the differences between the commercial needs of both companies were not the only problem, since the prices that the electric cars of Mitsubishi and Citroën will have in the old continent point to serious discrepancies.
The Japanese manufacturer indicates that the i-MiEV will be launched next year in Germany at a price of 48,000 euros including taxes and shipping costs; meanwhile, the French company reported that the C-Zero and the Peugeot iOn will be sold for approximately 35,000 euros in France. Furthermore, if we take into account the subsidy offered by the French government for buying an electric city car , the car could be purchased for 30,000 euros.
None of the manufacturers has explained the reason for this large price difference; however, it is speculated that the three compact electric versions that will be manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi will offer different mechanical and interior features.
In short, we will have to wait until next year to learn the answer.
