The Renault Grand Scénic is on offer: take advantage of it!
The diamond brand has launched an interesting offer on its Renault Grand Scénic, so if you are thinking of buying a seven-seat MPV, now is the time
The Renault Grand Scénic is one of the few survivors left in the MPV segment, and the growing trend towards SUVs has seriously hit its sales figures in recent years.
This model was renewed in 2017 and came with two body configurations available: Renault Scénic and Renault Grand Scénic. However, the range has been left orphaned, since the shorter-bodied version has disappeared from the lineup, given that its SUV siblings –the Renault Captur and the Renault Kadjar– have driven its disappearance. Don’t worry, if you are one of those who wants to jump on the trend and get an SUV, the Renault Captur has a very attractive price and an ECO label.
A seven-seat MPV with a large boot
Nevertheless, the extended-body version remains in the range, and this one has a body 24 centimetres longer so it can accommodate a third row of seats. As is usual in this type of car, this extra row is not exactly spacious, and it is suitable for carrying children or, only in exceptional circumstances, adults.
That said, we do have a generously sized boot when the last row is folded down, since it is rated at 533 litres of capacity. Therefore, you will have considerably more room for luggage than in a Renault Captur (406 litres) and than in its bigger sibling, the Renault Kadjar (472 litres).
So, although its sales are not particularly strong, the Renault Grand Scénic remains a great alternative if we want a car for the whole family. Even more so now, since it has a new offer that makes it available at a really attractive price.
What is the Renault Grand Scénic on offer like?
What engine does it have?
The Renault Grand Scénic that the diamond brand has put on offer comes with the most basic trim level in the range, paired only with the 1.3 TCe four-cylinder engine producing 116 CV and a six-speed manual gearbox.
Although the power output is not outstanding, this engine is enough to move the 1,604 kilograms that the French MPV weighs on the scales. This engine produces 220 Nm of torque and offers adequate performance: 0 to 100 km/h in 11.8 seconds and a top speed of 190 km/h. In addition, it claims a consumption of 6.8 l/100 km.
What is its standard equipment?
As we said before, the offer on the Renault Grand Scénic is associated with the most basic equipment level in the range, namely the Life. However, it already comes with a fairly reasonable standard equipment list: emergency braking assist, frontal collision warning, electric windows, LED daytime running lights, 20-inch steel wheels with wheel trims, electric external mirrors, manual air conditioning, traffic sign recognition, and speed limiter and cruise control.
How much does it cost?
What remains to be known is the most important thing: the price of the Renault Grand Scénic on offer. The standard price of this model with the trim and engine mentioned is 18,770 euros, but the diamond brand has pulled out all the stops to bring it down to a very interesting 16,600 euros.
If you want to take advantage of this offer on the Renault Grand Scénic, you will have to hurry, since the French firm will close this offer on 29 February, so you have just over a week to visit your nearest dealership.
