The SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition 2013 at Pebble Beach

The SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition will be the first special edition of the return of the quintessential muscle car with a V10 engine, later this year.

The SRT division has also been one of those choosing to be at Pebble Beach with one of its new prodigal sons who has returned, no less than the return of the Viper, after a little over a year’s sabbatical. The GTS Launch Edition 2013 of this muscular V10 has made its exclusive debut, and we will also show you some images of it.

The Viper presented has been unveiled in what would be my favourite colour for a coupé of these characteristics: blue, with the white stripes running from end to end. The classic aesthetic option that has always been part of the Viper (featured on the first models of each past generation) has not been left aside for the presentation of this variant, which will be more commemorative of the Viper’s homecoming.

This Launch Edition series will be limited, so it will be fitted with a serial number integrated into a small commemorative plate, so it will not lose its exclusivity. The package is completed by a set of wheels that are very attractive (keeping them clean will not be quite as easy), along with black leather interiors and a roof lined in Alcantara.

Mechanically, buyers will not be surprised, since under the bonnet sits the same 8.4 V10 from the previous Viper generation. There are no mechanical changes for now, but one thing that catches the eye is that Chrysler has not applied the turbo formula, so fashionable these days; the V10 will be naturally aspirated, in fact it will be the largest-displacement naturally aspirated engine in production.
