The VinFast VF8 will arrive in Europe before the end of the year

A new brand, one you have probably never heard of until now, is preparing to enter the European market with force, and this time it does not come from China but from Vietnam. It is VinFast

After postponing its arrival in the European market several times, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast now promises that the VF8 will debut on the old continent during the last quarter of this year. If everything goes according to plan, the first units of this electric SUV will be delivered on those dates in Germany, France and the Netherlands.

Le Thi Thu Thuy, the company’s current chief, recently told the media that other electric models from the brand, such as the VF6, VF7 and VF9, will also reach the European market, but they will do so next year. However, Thuy has not specified a concrete date on which this will happen.

As we said, the launch of the VF8 in Europe has been delayed several times. Initially planned for the last quarter of 2022, the company ended up postponing it to the first quarter of 2023, although it was not able to keep that promise either. Finally a new date was set that seemed much more realistic, the third quarter of 2023; and now we know it will be in the last quarter of this same year.

VinFast has not, however, mentioned the number of VF8 units that will be available at its launch in Europe. Some sources point out, nonetheless, that the company plans to export 3,000 units of this electric SUV to Europe. It is also true that a small number of these 3,000 units will in principle go to the Israeli market.

From the United States to Europe

In the North American market the situation has been very different, however. At the end of last year the company exported a first batch of 999 VF8 units. The data published by the company itself reflects clear growth since then, as during the second quarter of 2023 the number of units delivered in this market rose to 9,535. Multiplying by five the figures recorded in the first quarter of that same year.

VinFast’s forecasts are, however, much more optimistic. The company plans for its expansion not to stop at North America and Europe. Other markets such as the Middle East, Africa or Latin America are also in its sights.
