They say that Nissan would bring Datsun back as a very low-cost brand

We have to be realistic. The business is getting harder all the time, selling cars is becoming more and more complicated, and the market needs to be revived somehow (by whatever means), even if it means cars that cost a few thousand euros. The Japanese newspaper Nikkei published on Thursday that Nissan would bring back to the market a name that may have been more famous than Nissan itself: Datsun.
Datsun’s return to the industry would take the form of an ultra-low-cost car for emerging markets. Nikkei suggests that there will be Datsun models priced at 3,500 euros.
If you don’t yet remember Datsun as a brand, you will surely recall the Datsun 280ZX or the Datsun 300ZX. Or perhaps the Datsun 510, a small saloon that sold many thousands of units around the world. We will be watching for a possible return of Datsun.
