FONDEA is Spain’s first collective investment platform for used vehicles. This innovative company offers a new way of earning returns through crowdfunding: investing in a used car which, when sold to a third party, will bring you a profit of 8% on the amount deposited. According to a study carried out by Universo Crowdfunding, in collaboration with the Complutense University of Madrid, this form of collective financing raised 101,651,284 euros in Spain in 2017, 35.33% more than in 2016.

All the vehicles advertised on the FONDEA platform are financed through multiple investors, who can be companies or individuals. In other words, you yourself can earn returns from this innovative business model.

A distinctive feature of FONDEA is that it allows investors to choose which specific vehicle they want to invest in, according to their tastes and interests.

This is how the FONDEA investment system works

The investment method is very simple. FONDEA puts a selection of used vehicles on its website for investors. Each investor can take part with whatever amount they wish, starting from 500 euros, in the financing for the purchase of that tangible asset. The company can sell the vehicle at any time, regardless of the number of investors who have participated and the amount raised. Once the vehicle is sold, the company distributes profits: an 8% return to each investor on the capital invested. Considering an average selling period of 45 days, the maximum period within which FONDEA undertakes to sell the vehicle is 6 months, and in the event that the vehicle is not sold within that time, the return of the money invested is guaranteed to each investor, which will be made during the month following the end of the period.

FONDEA guarantees the security of your investment, as it offers a guarantee of return of the capital invested. In addition, the website offers great transparency and simplicity in all transactions. For every available investment, you will know how long it has been open, the money raised so far and the percentage still needed to complete the crowdfunding.

The used car market grows 12.1% in 2018

Furthermore, it should be noted that FONDEA’s activity is based on a market that is experiencing constant growth: sales of used vehicles grew by 12.1% between January and October 2018, compared with the same period last year. According to data from Ideauto for Ganvam, a total of 1,880,040 units were sold in this period, with 1.7 sales of a used vehicle for every new vehicle sold (a ratio of 1.6 in 2017).
