Some cars impress from the outside, others from the inside, and others, like the SSC Tuatara, the awe-inspiring hypercar from the American manufacturer, claim to be among the contenders to break the 300 mph barrier.

In its bid to stand out among the most powerful cars around, this sports car, with its nearly 1,775 CV, is powered by a brutal 5.9-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 running on E85 fuel, moving a car weighing just 1,250 kg.

With this power-to-weight ratio alone, the car is capable of almost instantaneous acceleration, as shown in the footage filmed from inside, where you can feel what the creator, owner and driver Jerod Shelby experienced during the run of the SSC Tuatara in the video, which captures the car’s extraordinary acceleration.

According to Shelby himself, the car can go from 60 to 120 mph in 2.5 seconds and, as the recording shows, the car effortlessly surpassed the 120 barrier in less time than it takes to process the thrust of this car.

A treat for the senses, since from the various cameras installed inside and outside, you can also hear the sound of the engine of the SSC Tuatara climbing through its rev range.

That said, although we can imagine the car’s reaction to pressing the accelerator, the thrust and power that the laws of physics dictate show that this car is literally capable of pinning its two occupants, at most, against their seats in each of the 99 units Shelby intends to build, at an established cost of more than 1 million dollars per SSC Tuatara, with production expected to begin later this same year.
