Virgin interested in electric cars: Elon Musk, watch out!

The future of the electric vehicle has a name: Elon Musk. It is true that competition keeps growing, but Tesla may have to share the sector with another powerful manufacturer. Richard Branson, his rival in other businesses such as space travel, appears interested in producing this type of vehicle, and let us remember that he already owns a team in Formula E, where Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari competes.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Richard Branson, owner of Virgin, said he already has people working on developing electric cars, and added: “You never know, we could find Virgin competing with Tesla in the electric vehicle market”.
The rivalry between Richard Branson and Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, is already old. Space travel is a multimillion-dollar business for millionaires who can afford it, but electric vehicles are a product for a much larger group of buyers. Branson knows this and says that these cars reach 225 km/h and are attractive, thanking competitions such as Formula E for being the perfect showcase for future drivers to opt for an electric car as their next car.
