Volvo starts production of the electric C30

After more than a year of intensive testing, most of it in winter, Volvo has finally decided to begin production of its first electric car, at a somewhat slow pace that will depend on market response. Even so, they want to have 250 units delivered by next year.

The Volvo C30 will be sold on lease in Europe. The Scandinavian countries will receive a good number of them, although sales in other markets are also planned. As for Spain, it is not known when or how it will arrive commercially, but I believe I recall that there are some in circulation as part of the carsharing fleet.

Technically, the electric C30 offers roughly the same as other battery-powered cars: a silent, eco-friendly ride, although its range is anything but convenient for anyone who has to drive on main or motorway roads every day.
