World Car of the Year 2014: these are the finalists

On 17 April, the awards will be revealed for World Car of the Year, across the different categories competing for the accolade. The awards ceremony will take place at the New York International Auto Show. Besides World Car of the Year, we will also learn who will be Luxury Car of the Year (the first year this award is given), the best sports car, the green car and the best design of 2014.

From the final selection of models given below, only three will remain, and these will be announced at the next Geneva Motor Show.
