You’ve surely seen it. Luxury cars, big saloons Mercedes, Audi or BMW in most cases, parked badly or in a prohibited spot (often official cars) and on which no fine is issued and they don’t even receive a warning. Regarding them, a recent survey in the USA sheds a little light on the matter.

It seems that the power these people feel behind the wheel of their cars prevents them from realising they could be fined, and this leads them to leave the car in prohibited places. Perhaps they feel they can afford to pay whatever fines come their way, but 72.5% of them believe they are omnipotent enough to park wherever they please.

The same survey, carried out on more than 2,000 drivers in the USA, makes a comparison with drivers of smaller vehicles. Of these, only 21.4% don’t care about fines for parking badly.

Curiously, while they feel no fear of receiving a parking fine, most of them are terrified of being fined for speeding, which are more expensive, of course. Exactly, 63% of them. And it is that driving a BMW M3 on the motorway attracts more attention than driving an Seat Ibiza…
