A Tesla Model S humiliates the Porsche Cayman in an acceleration drag race
A video recorded by a user of the Tesla Model S shows its electric acceleration compared with a Porsche Cayman, which ended up sliding out of a bend

Given that the Tesla Model S has instant acceleration thanks to its electric drivetrain, it is only logical that sports cars of the Porsche Cayman’s size would not have much to do in a straight line against the electric saloon. But neither is it to be expected that the German model would make such a fool of itself against the Tesla Model S as it does in this video.
The sequence begins with a Tesla Model S in front, followed by a Porsche Cayman. Thanks to the rear camera fitted to the electric model, we can see how the German car tries to keep up with it on a couple of occasions, a situation that suggested what could have been an interesting acceleration duel, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Never underestimate the acceleration of an electric battery; its power delivery is instantaneous. After leaving a bend, the Tesla Model S shoots off like a missile, and in trying to follow it, you can see the driver of the Porsche Cayman use the accelerator too early, which inevitably ends in an embarrassing spin and the uncontrollable laughter of the driver of the Tesla.
We are sure the owner of the Porsche Cayman got home with his tail between his legs after his disappointing performance. But he has probably learned a lesson: taking on a car – the Tesla Model S – that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h as fast as a sporty street bike (up to 2.28 seconds) with a German sports car – the Porsche Cayman – that takes no less than 4 seconds
(between 4.6 and 4.2 seconds) is not a good idea.
