In the systematic pursuit of its digitalization strategy, Audi offers its customers ever-greater connectivity possibilities in their vehicles. Alexa, the voice of Amazon’s AI, will integrate perfectly with the e-tron’s MMI operating system, without the mandatory use of a smartphone.

The aim of this integration is to give users the ability, while driving, to interact with Alexa to obtain real-time information, and the same services and features this AI offers from any other location.

Services such as checking the news and weather information, keeping up with the latest events, placing orders on Amazon, adding tasks to your calendar, listening to music or audiobooks are some of the features that will be available thanks to Alexa.

More advanced functions will allow the user to interact with their smart home through Alexa, being able to unlock doors or even turn on the heating, among other things.

To use this service, all you need is your voice. Audi is working hard with Amazon to achieve the most seamless integration currently possible. The goal is that, through your voice and without needing a smartphone, you will be able to connect to the services this AI offers via the cloud.

Activation will be straightforward, with just saying the word “Alexa”, which will switch on to greet you and offer its full range of possibilities. The Alexa integration is not the first joint project between the two companies. Through the myAudi app, the brand with the four rings has offered Amazon Music as part of the Audi connect services on many of its models since late 2017. Following the launch of the Audi e-tron, Audi will integrate Alexa into additional models in North America and most European countries, thus opening a new chapter in terms of user experience.
