Alfa Romeo is preparing an electric version of the legendary 4C for 2027
The electric successor to the Alfa Romeo 4C could perhaps end up being called 4E, to make clear that it is a Zero Emissions model with a fully electric powertrain
To the disappointment of the brand’s fans, Alfa Romeo removed the legendary 4C from its catalogue in 2019. It debuted as a Coupé in 2013 and two years later was also available as a Spider. But all is not lost yet. A few years later, the situation of the Italian manufacturer, now part of the Stellantis Group, is completely different.
The electrification process the brand is undergoing will lead Alfa Romeo to launch several fully electric models in the coming years, and everything points to one of them being a roadster.

Alfa Romeo’s plans first involve introducing a fully electric compact SUV to the market next year, followed by the electric successors to the Giulia saloon and the Stelvio SUV. Later, a large saloon and a large SUV will also arrive, developed mainly to appeal to North American and Chinese customers. Finally, by around 2027 or perhaps a little later, that new electric roadster we are talking about will also arrive, probably inspired by the legendary 4C.
Electrification has opened a new road for Alfa Romeo to travel
In statements to the media, Daniel Guzzafame, the current product chief at Alfa Romeo, referred to the possibility that we may see an electric roadster from the brand in the more or less near future. According to him, if this finally happens, this new model will keep all the character that defines any Alfa Romeo vehicle.
Some concepts associated with the Italian firm will also be retained, such as the possibility of a Spider version. According to Guzzafame: “Alfa Romeo is Spider, and when you think of Alfa Romeo you are thinking of Spider”. Nevertheless, he also believes that a product like this must be brought to market at the right moment and with full confidence in what is being done. Otherwise it could end up being a failure.

Finally, it should be noted that this new Alfa Romeo electric roadster will probably use Stellantis’s STLA Medium platform, the same one found in the Peugeot e-3008, and the same one the future electric Giulia will also use.
