Alfa Romeo Pandion: Bertone's tribute to Alfa Romeo

Just a few days ago, we learned that Alfa Romeo will be celebrating its centenary in grand style, and that no fewer than three of the most iconic design studios in automotive history would create three tribute models for the Italian brand. The first one has already been unveiled: called Alfa Romeo Pandion, it is the creation of Bertone for the Geneva Motor Show.

The Pandion is a very futuristic car in the vein of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, both in size and in design. We could say that if the Competizione were to extend its commercial life by around 10 years, this would be the final result. However, the concept that will be presented in Geneva is fully functional, with a more radical engine to power the Pandion, as it fits the V8 from the Maserati Gran Turismo.

Returning to the Pandion’s design: along with the side transparencies, this coupé will have doors that open like suicide doors. There are also some very curious details at the rear that will deserve analysis once we have photos of the model at the Geneva show.

If we follow the trail of rumours about the other two “gifts” that Pininfarina and Giugiaro have in store for Alfa, we can expect Pininfarina to present a convertible, while Giugiaro will do the same with a saloon.
