Alonso and Massa pose next to their new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

Fiat gives Alonso and Massa a pair of fully customised Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 for the occasion

What a surprising move from the guys at Fiat. Not content with simply promoting the most powerful version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, they have decided to capitalise on the media pull of their official Formula 1 drivers by giving each of them a uniquely customised Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.

As you might expect, the units stand out for the red Ferrari that covers the entire bodywork, except for certain areas such as the grilles, alloy wheels and the longitudinal vinyl running along the upper part of the body, which is finished in black.

Certain details make these units even more unique, such as the Italian flag on the wing mirrors or the fact that they sit on a suspension that is 3.8 cm lower than conventional SRT8 versions. Also, the interior has been upholstered in red leather, a colour that appears in certain details and contrasts with the darker black of the rest of the cabin.

Before I say goodbye, just a reminder that the beasts you see on screen are powered by a huge 6.4-litre HEMI V8 producing a whopping 468 CV and 624 Nm of peak torque, enabling this distinctive and attractive Grand Cherokee to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just under 5 seconds and reach a top speed of 257 km/h.
