AMG is also betting on electric cars and announces new models of this kind

When we mention the AMG brand, linked to Mercedes, large and powerful cars come to mind, ready to devour miles and offer a great driving experience. Engines that propel these cars to considerable speeds, provide the power to overcome any challenge, and an interior luxury that makes travelling in them not just a pleasure, but a delight. And now, the brand also does not rule out adding versions with electric traction to its range.

The announcement that Mercedes would begin to bet on this type of vehicle came last year, and now it is its top-of-the-range subsidiary that joins this proposal. This is not surprising, since all the major brands are leaning towards this type of sustainable mobility, which seems to have definitively won the battle for zero-emission propulsion.

For AMG’s managers, the electrification of its models is not incompatible with the brand’s philosophy. AMG cars offer their owners really spectacular specifications and a superior driving experience even compared to the Mercedes models, but this, they assure, is not incompatible with the possibility of having drive systems with a greater or lesser presence of electricity. In fact, electric mobility technology has advanced enough to deliver power, range and comfort compatible with the brand’s models.

The German company with the star has already launched the first previews of what will be the EQ family, electric vehicles to compete with the brands that are using these cars to position themselves in the market. In principle, these will be the ones at the top of the list of electric AMG models. It is not known when this will happen, but since all experts place the start of the next decade as the moment when electric and hybrid cars will begin to become truly popular, and when the first Mercedes EQ models will appear, AMG will present its first electric models immediately afterwards.
