Arrives the Smart 4Teen, an electric city microcar that can be driven without a driving licence

It is not that this is a new segment, but it has become quite popular in recent years. I am referring to quadricycles, which now come as sustainable vehicles with an electric drivetrain. One of these vehicles, designed to be driven by minors or by people who do not hold a driving licence, is the Smart 4Teen.

This small urban vehicle is designed precisely for drivers aged between 14 and 18, so it has all the features these models usually have so that no driving licence is required. This new iteration of the Smart ForTwo comes from the collaboration between Aznom Automotive and Newtron, who had already revived the original ForTwo between 2003 and 2007.

At the heart of this vehicle is a 15 kW motor, powered by energy stored in a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 11.4 kWh. With this setup, the power and driving mode can be adapted to different profiles.

In principle, it can be driven from the age of 14, in the L6e configuration. In this case, the top speed is limited to 45 km/h. In this case, the range is 140 kilometres, more than enough to fulfil its role as a city vehicle. For drivers over 16 years old, the L7e version can be chosen.

This one has a top speed of 90 km/h and a range of up to 90 kilometres. In addition, the battery can be charged both with domestic stations and at public chargers. In this way, it becomes more practical for electric mobility. In terms of safety, this new variant of the model comes with all the equipment its predecessor had. Thus, it is more complete than other similar models.

One of the most important things about this type of vehicle is personalisation. The user will be able to choose between several body colours, materials for the interior and exterior finish, and other advantages over similar models. This is reflected in the price, which starts at 24,339 euros. It is a higher price than other electric quadricycles, but the quality of the materials used in its construction and its equipment justify this price.
