ATS rises from the ashes and proposes a supercar for Salon Privé 2017
This company disappeared from the market but is making a comeback with a supercar that will have only one edition, with 12 hand-built units that we will see soon

Back in 1962, a company of artisan cars was born, created by several Formula 1 engineers, which wanted to launch several supercar models, and which disappeared from the market a few years ago. But now they want to bring their technique and knowledge into the 21st century and have set out to launch one of these spectacular models that we love so much. This model is called GT and will be seen for the first time at Salon Privé, an exclusive event that will take place on 31 August.
We have no image of this car, although the company Automobili Turismo e Sport has released a brief image showing the car’s silhouette and the company logo, as bait to keep us alert for the presentation of what is expected to be a spectacular supercar. We know that the ATS GT will feature a twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering its power through a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission.
Limited edition of 12 units
The car was designed by the company’s chief engineer, Emanuele Bomboi, who insists that only 12 units will be built, all hand-made and using only lightweight materials such as carbon fibre. These materials will be present in the chassis, the bodywork and the interior, as part of the Launch Edition version, which will be the one shown at the event this August.
To underline how special this car is, the owner of the brand says the concept was built around words such as “challenge, adventure and passion“, to “present the values that were the foundation shared by the company’s founders when it was established in 1962“. Those same values are shared by the current members of the team who have relaunched the brand in the 21st century. We will have to wait a little to see this supercar, but the wait will surely be worth it.
