Audi closes the first quarter of the year with record numbers

Despite the crisis affecting the automotive sector, Audi has presented some truly surprising figures today. The German brand has announced that it has recorded its best first quarter in its history, thanks to the strong results achieved last March, when deliveries reached 125,700, representing an increase of 13.9%.
Audi sold around 312,600 cars in the first three months, up 18.4% on the same period last year, and the launch of the new A6 is expected to contribute to growth in the coming months.
Sales of the A1 have been decisive in achieving these figures: in March alone, 13,880 units were sold, and since January nearly 31,000 vehicles have been sold. In addition to this growth in Spain, the trend for Audi in the European market is the same, with an increase of 14.8% compared with the same period in 2010.
The good results were also seen on the other side of the Atlantic: in the United States, sales rose 19.1% and in March alone 9,818 were sold, 14.3% more than last year.
In China, Audi has also experienced a considerable sales increase, with the 64,122 units sold between January and March representing 24.6% more than in 2010, and once again March was the key month, with an increase of 17.7%.
