Audi suspends the RS versions of the Q5 and Q7

Besides delighting us with special models bearing the RS designation, Audi also reserved the badge for more powerful versions with upgraded finishes of its Q5 and Q7 SUVs. Clearly, they were the perfect counterparts to the BMW models, the X5 and X6 M.
Whether because Audi still feels it cannot compete on equal terms with BMW and its M variants, or because it wants to wait for a better opportunity to launch its own models, Audi has announced that for now, it is suspending its Q5 or Q7 RS.
Audi says the launch will happen when it is technically feasible and does not entirely rule out that it may occur in the near future. The Ingolstadt brand adds that the RS badge must continue to represent the ultimate expression of performance and driving quality.
Reaching the quality of BMW or Mercedes is not easy, but it is well known that Audi is entirely capable of it. I get the impression they will direct all their firepower at the Audi A1 and then at the future A2, before turning to further improving their SUVs.
