Bentley has unveiled a prototype called EXP 12 Speed 6e at the Geneva Motor Show. This concept previews a strategic shift in the brand’s future: Bentley will begin producing electrified vehicles, and this prototype is its first proposal.

The Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e features a revolutionary high-speed fast-charging system. It also offers the option of conventional refuelling. The range of this vehicle is one of its most notable features, as the British company has assured that it will be able to cover the distance from London to Paris or from Milan to Monaco on a single charge.

This prototype features muscular design lines inspired by the fuselage of an aircraft, according to Bentley. At the front, a grille with a complex 3D geometry stands out, along with a logo with the 6e inscription that lights up in white. The wing mirrors are replaced by tiny cameras.

The Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e offers a cabin where the classic and the futuristic are combined. The leather and Alcantara materials stand out, along with certain technological elements such as the large high-definition OLED screen and a control panel from which the passenger can access social networks, email or other entertainment options.

The possibility of Bentley beginning to produce electric vehicles such as the EXP 12 Speed 6e prototype has taken everyone by surprise. If expectations are met, the British firm would be the first ultra-luxury brand to produce 100% electric cars. For now, Bentley has already announced that it will include plug-in hybrid versions across its entire range; the first model to feature this option will be the Bentley Bentayga in 2018.
