Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid "The Surgeon", high-level design and craftsmanship
During the Art Basel fair in Miami, Bentley was also present with a unique and very special one-off unit, the Flying Spur Hybrid The Surgeon

During the contemporary art fair, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Inspired by Fashion was not the only one-off creation vehicle on display, as Bentley was also present at this distinguished event with the Flying Spur Hybrid The Surgeon, a vehicle with unique details on which the artisans at Mulliner had to put in their full effort.
The name The Surgeon was not chosen at random; its nickname may sound familiar as it belongs to the leader in custom footwear that fuses high-fashion design with urban culture. At the beginning of 2022, he visited the Mulliner facilities, which served to create a limited edition of ten pairs of made-to-measure sneakers with design features that involved details of Bentley. This creation was precisely the catalyst for both brands to collaborate once again, this time to bring us the Flying Spur Hybrid The Surgeon.

To begin with, the Flying Spur Hybrid The Surgeon is equipped with the Blackline specification, which means that all the exterior chrome is replaced by high-gloss black. It is also equipped with the design specification, which adds a greater dose of sportiness with a front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a discreet rear spoiler in carbon fibre.

Dominic Ciambrone, The Surgeon, chose for the exterior the spectacular combination of Anthracite with Anthracite Satin, creating a unique and special colour, while the contrast note is provided by the Satin Bronze applied to the lower mouldings at the front, rear and sides, finished with a diplomatic stripe, also in Satin Bronze, running along its entire perimeter. This colour is also present on the The Surgeon badges fitted to the D-pillars and the Hybrid badges located behind the front wheel arches, while the final touch is provided by the Flying B badge of Bentley in Gloss Black finish.

Moving now into the interior of the Flying Spur Hybrid The Surgeon, we see how the designer’s hand is evident from the moment the doors are opened, with LED lighting projecting The Surgeon’s skull logo onto the floor and the words “Never Stop” on the door sills. Past this welcome, we find the leather upholstery in Linen as the main colour applied to the seats, door panels and the lower part of the dashboard and, as a secondary colour, the leather in Beluga finish for the upper part of the dashboard, the centre console and the steering wheel, all with contrasting stitching in a bronze finish, a colour also used for the embroidery of the The Surgeon logo and name.

But the upholstery will not be the only unique details found in the Flying Spur Hybrid The Surgeon. For example, if we look at the dashboard, we see it is adorned with walnut wood with an open-pore Crown Cut veneer on top, while the lower veneer is finished in High Gloss Crown Cut in which the The Surgeon logos have been laser-engraved, both veneers separated by a thin line of bright white running across the doors. Precisely on the rear doors, walnut wood inserts have been fitted with a three-dimensional diamond pattern.
The personalisation does not end here: both the front and rear centre consoles feature a high-gloss trim in Grand Black finish, incorporating The Surgeon logo on the rear cup holders. As a link between the exterior and interior design, Satin Bronze appears on the B+O speakers, and this same colour also appears on a tab on the steering wheel in the area of the gear selector.
