Bosch Jet Wiper: the efficient windscreen cleaning system

To achieve more effective cleaning of our vehicle’s windscreen, Bosch has developed a spray system that moves away from the bonnet-mounted location and is instead integrated into the wiper blades themselves. Thanks to the intelligent control of the Jet Wiper system, combined with spray nozzles integrated into the arm, the water or washer fluid is distributed evenly.

Among the advantages of the Jet Wiper system over conventional sprayers is the dosing of water in an optimal amount that does not affect the driver’s field of vision, as well as a reduction in washer fluid consumption of up to 50% and the effectiveness of the cleaning system at high speeds, since the water is not projected from the bonnet but is spread evenly along the wiper blade.

Bosch has pursued the best cleaning efficiency and maximum water consumption efficiency, so it has equipped the Jet Wiper with an electronic system that allows the position of the arm’s nozzle on the glass to be detected at all times, since water is dispensed only when the wiper blades move upwards, and is collected and spread evenly across the whole windscreen.

To prevent dripping or any other type of water loss, the spray nozzles are fitted with valves that open only when the washer function is activated and seal again once it finishes. For winter, Bosch has designed a heating system that ensures the nozzle works correctly even when weather conditions are adverse.

The German manufacturer is betting on this new sprayer, achieving even better results thanks to the Bosch Aerotwin wiper blades, which have just been named the best wiper blades on the market by the German Automobile Club (ADAC).
