Brilliance now "threatens" to launch an SUV

The Chinese brand Brilliance is not exactly known for quality, or for its success in Europe, where we have seen that it has had to be withdrawn from the market because of virtually non-existent sales. Brilliance is strong in China, where they focus more on the BS4 and BS6 and their hatchback, wagon and coupé configurations.
But something was missing. An SUV. I don’t know whether it is on their own initiative, or because their commercial partners BMW and Mercedes have asked (or demanded) it, but Brilliance would now be getting ready to launch an SUV in China. The project has already progressed to the clay model stage, on a new platform and not on a previous model, so they say, although as we will see it is not exactly that new.
If we compare the new SUV that has been drawn up and that has appeared as a preview of the new model, we see that it is exactly the same as a BMW X3. Although the lower air intakes are not divided into three sections like on the German model, it seems that Brilliance has not done a very good job of copying the X3, unless BMW has expressly asked for it that way, which I doubt.
Here are both images: a photo of the Brilliance SUV, not of very good quality, which would be presented at the next Guangzhou motor show, and a BMW X3. Any resemblance to reality is purely coincidental.
