Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport: new updated version of the French monster

A new updated version of the Bugatti Chiron called “Pur Sport” arrives. Improved aerodynamics and a firmer suspension are some of the details we will find.

The Bugatti Chiron receives an update under the name Pur Sport. One of the most radical and fastest vehicles in the world, it improves on what were already surprising baseline figures.

Getting close to perfection

The Bugatti Chiron is already one of the fastest, most radical and exclusive vehicles in the world. Receiving an update is only a sign of the brand’s desire to show what it is capable of and to improve a product that was already nearly perfect.

The downside, of course, is that there are already several versions of this model, and it is starting to become confusing because of so much variety. To this long list, therefore, is added the Pur Sport, which will be the most radical version of the model to date.

In this new version we find improved aerodynamics and suspension, as well as reduced weight, gaining speed and tuning to offer greater dynamism.

As you can imagine, there was no need to update the already monstrous 1,500 CV W16 engine; however, it reaches a rev range 200 rpm higher than that of the “regular” version, up to 6,900 rpm.

As for the gearbox, it is now built to recalibrate the automatic transmission. It also features a 15% closer gear ratio spacing, which translates into improved power delivery as well as a better engine response.

The result is a 40% improvement in “elasticity” compared with the regular model. The chassis has also received some updates, including a 65% increase in stiffness of the front coil springs and 33% at the rear.

This Pur Sport version also features wheels 16 kilos lighter, designed to improve aerodynamics and brake ventilation. As for the latter, the brand has opted for titanium brakes and lighter brake discs. These materials make this version of the Chiron 19 kilos lighter.

Only 16 units of the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport will be built, and production will begin in mid-2020. The price starts at 3.2 million euros, so you’d better have a fat wallet.
