Chery takes the Riich G5 to the Nürburgring

Riich is the division of the Chinese brand Chery in charge of the manufacturer’s high-end cars, and in the case of the Riich G5, besides being a high-end vehicle for the Chinese market, it is also one of the few whose design has been carried out entirely by the brand and not inspired by any other model.
What is defined as high-end in China may be fairly standard in Europe (at least in terms of materials), and the Riich G5 seems to measure up to the European market in quality and safety. Therefore Chery is trying to prove that its product is valid, first by ensuring it will achieve at least four stars in the EuroNCAP test, and it has taken it to the Nürburgring circuit to demonstrate how the Riich G5 performs.

Possibly Chery is preparing the Riich G5 for a landing on the old continent, and soon we may have the EuroNCAP test results, but for now what has been seen at the Nürburgring circuit has been well received. The results of the two-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing under 200 CV, achieved a good time of 8:56 in the hands of Dirk Schoysman.
It is undoubtedly a statement of intent from Chery, a brand which, let us remember, was subcontracted by Lotus to update the chassis of several of its cars. Let’s hope that little by little we will see quality Chinese products in Europe; meanwhile, we wait for the arrival of MG in Europe, which by the time it gets here will already be outdated models.
