A prototype of the Toyota FT-86 Concept has already been tested at the Nürburgring

Only a few days after it was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Toyota/Subaru FT-86 (Toyobaru, as they also call it) has already had the pleasure of testing a production-intended prototype variant at the Nürburgring circuit in Germany. This time it was Subaru’s turn to take charge of the testing, putting the prototype of what will gradually become the coupé that the two brands will produce together through its paces on track.

As for the engine, it is said that the Boxer, the most representative engine shared by both brands, will certainly be used, and there is no other possible option. Subaru will continue to handle the design and track testing, as well as the prototypes, while Toyota will take charge of producing the model once it has been approved and is ready for production.

Judging by the images, the FT-86 seen at the Nürburgring is taking shape, although the final model does not always look like the concept. The rear of the prototype still lacks its final finish, so it is safe to assume that what is being tested now are the chassis dynamics and how the car behaves on the move.

Es una mezcla muy rara, se parece al Chrysler Neon en la delantera y en la trasera al Volkswagen Scirocco modelo 86, vamos que no me agrada nada
