Chery presents the first official images of the Riich Z5

The Chinese brand Chery has decided to leave behind its usual models and focus this time on a sports model. The last coupé they presented was a compact called Faira YY Coupé, which was spotted a couple of years ago in Beijing. Now another type of coupé arrives, the Riich Z5.
The Chinese brand announces that the powertrain will be a 2.0-litre turbo engine producing 125 CV, although, not very happily, the model will apparently come with a five-speed automatic gearbox, so some horsepower will be lost along the way. And it’s not that the car is bad, but the idea of fitting an automatic gearbox seems not to fit quite right.
The Riich Z5 is aimed at a segment that demands a little more luxury than the brand’s regular models, and it will be grouped under the sub-brand Riich. This time it has to be said that, apparently, no one has been copied and the design is quite accomplished. Although in the image the mirror looks like a crude addition to the photo, I like the finish of the rear. It can be said that Chery has passed with good marks, if it weren’t for the rather lacklustre engine.
