Citroën arrives in Frankfurt with a renewed outlook

Citroën presents itself at the Frankfurt show with a concept worth paying attention to: that of renewal. A renewal that will extend both to its C and DS lines and to the equipment of its vehicles, as well as to its participation in new motorsport challenges, such as the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
Among the concepts, the C-Cactus inaugurates the future direction that the C-line models will take. It is a concept that sums up well-being in use, with the comfort of all occupants of the vehicle, and practical, easy-to-use technologies. It will also have a minimal environmental impact.

But there will be more from Citroën: the new Citroën C4 Picasso, launched in June 2013 and, as a world premiere, the Grand C4 Picasso. Both models will feature the new BlueHDi engine, which meets the Euro VI standard, and a new design built on the new PSA Group platform Peugeot Citroën, EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2).
The new C4 Picasso stands out for its new wraparound tailgate, which suggests spaciousness and robustness, and rear LED lights with a 3D effect inspired by the Tubik, Survolt and Revolte concepts. As for the Grand C4 Picasso, it differs clearly from the 5-seat version with a more voluminous body, roof arches, a front end with a specific technological treatment, and rear LED lights with a 3D effect.

The Citroën DS3 Racing will also be on show, featuring Moondark grey paint with a granulated matte finish, 19-inch gloss black wheels, and Black Chrome inserts on the door handles, the boot trim and the mirrors. The customization is completed with a carbon-fibre kit, a specific braking system and suspension, as well as a 1.6-litre engine producing 202 CV.
Also making its European debut is the Wild Rubis concept, a new expression of the DS line that previews the brand’s future SUV. Another presentation will be the Faubourg Addict trim for the DS3, DS3 Cabrio, DS4 and DS5, based on the “number 9” concept car presented in Shanghai.
