Citroën C1 Origins, a model that pays tribute to the legendary 2CV
The Citroën C1 Origins has a clear objective with its launch on the market: to pay tribute to one of the most iconic vehicles of the French brand, the Citroën 2CV.
This same year, the brand of the chevrons is celebrating its centenary in a very special way, specifically through the Origins special series. Through this new range, the brand associates each model in its current lineup with one of the traits that have defined the brand since 1919. “Comfort, personalisation, adventure, saloon character, family travel, interior space and agility” are just some of the qualities that the French brand wants to pay homage to.
According to the French manufacturer, the Citroën C1 Origins “moves easily around the city thanks to its compact dimensions and manoeuvrability. It pays tribute to another iconic model that was also very agile: the Citroën 2CV of the 1950s”. The new model can now be reserved with a starting price of 10,990 euros, along with a very special gift: a rear-view camera.
The Citroën C1 is an urban model of which more than one million units have been sold since its launch in 2005. The city car also celebrates the brand’s hundred years by wearing the Origins special edition. “Inspired by people and their ways of life, the Citroën C1 makes their daily life easier, both in its saloon and convertible versions. Agile and practical, it moves easily around the city thanks to its compact dimensions and manoeuvrability“.

A clear tribute to the Citroën 2CV
The already legendary Citroën 2CV of the 1950s became a true symbol of freedom. “Four wheels under an umbrella” that could “carry a basket of eggs across the countryside without breaking a single one”. These were the words set down in the specifications in 1936, before the Tout Petite Voiture, TPV, took its definitive shape at the Paris Motor Show of 1948, under the name 2CV.
This iconic car is “a legend that celebrated its 70th anniversary last year and holds a longevity record with more than five million units manufactured up to July 1990“.
According to the brand of the chevrons, “taking the 2CV as its reference, the Citroën C1 Origins is distinguished on the exterior by the elegant colours of its bodywork. It is available in Lizipan White and Gallium Grey, combined with a Onyx Black roof. Equipped with a tinted rear windscreen and 15″ Planet black alloy wheels, the Citroën C1 Origins features bronze accents on various exterior elements, such as the trim pieces, mirror caps, rear tailgate cover and boot door. In addition, the front doors display decals bearing the signature Origins since 1919, which commemorates the 100 years of Citroën“.

As for the interior, this special edition features the so-called ‘Origins’ interior ambience, which includes seats with a specific grey mélange upholstery, Gold topstitching and a label reading ‘Origins’, as well as a bronze colour pack in which the model fits details in that shade such as the air vents and parts of the centre console, not forgetting the floor mats, which are also special.

“The Citroën C1 Origins comes, among other equipment, with a 17.8 cm (7”) touchscreen, Mirror Screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, MP3 radio and USB port, automatic air conditioning and automatic headlight activation, hill start assist, speed limiter and LED daytime running lights”. It is powered by a VTi 72 S&S petrol engine.
