Pininfarina Pura Vision, this is what the mysterious electric saloon from the brand could look like
It is called the Pininfarina Pura Vision and it could become the electric saloon of the Italian brand that has been rumoured for some time. Its debut? In 2020.

The Monterrey Car Week ended last Sunday, but Automobili Pininfarina attended the event to show the new Pura Vision to a handful of VIP clients. Described as “its vision of the future for luxury electric cars”, the mysterious concept was “created to inspire prospective customers and showcase the unique design philosophy of Automobili Pininfarina”.
Little is known about the Pininfarina Pura Vision concept, but the company has released a couple of heavily cropped photos that appear to show a scale model of the car. The details are hard to make out, but the prototype seems to have a frayed windscreen that merges into a glass roof that continues all the way to the rear of the car.

The glass roof of the Pininfarina Pura Vision concept appears to be broken up by a centre-mounted support that protrudes slightly. We can also see a spoiler wrapping around the rear of the vehicle, integrated into the bodywork. That is not much to go on, but design director Luca Borgogno has assured that “the Pura Vision combines design themes with the Pininfarina Battista“.
“The Pininfarina Battista became famous for creating some of the most revered and beautiful sports cars in history. However, it is absolutely an idea of our future; a luxury vehicle like no other and once again designed to deliver exciting electric performance”.

Pininfarina Pura Vision concept, a debut set for 2020
Its public debut is scheduled for 2020 and the model may be presented at the Geneva Motor Show. This remains unconfirmed, but the Pininfarina Battista debuted at the recent Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. Many questions remain about the concept, but the model may preview the brand’s upcoming saloon.
This information remains unconfirmed, but Automobili Pininfarina has used Monterey Car Week to give prospective customers an “inspiring vision of the aesthetics of a future purely electric luxury utility vehicle from the Italian brand”.

Earlier reports have suggested that the upcoming saloon and crossover could have a battery pack with a capacity of between 100 and 125 kWh. This could allow the models to travel up to 600 kilometres on a single charge. More importantly, they are rumoured to be significantly more affordable than the Pininfarina Battista, with the saloon potentially priced at 200,000 euros and the crossover at 400,000.
Michael Perschke pointed out that “visitors to Monterey Car Week know and love the cars designed by Pininfarina, and we love presenting something special during this fantastic series of events. We arrived with an impressive number of reservations for the Battista already secured by customers in North America, and that number has almost doubled in just a few days here.”

“We are building our brand and developing an exciting portfolio of future products. We are committed to delivering purity, beauty and rarity in the Battista and in a future range of purely electric Italian luxury cars.”
