Citroën C3 VTi 95 GLP: new version running on LPG

The use of LPG is spreading more and more across Europe, and Spain was not going to be the exception. Citroën has unveiled the C3 VTi 95 GLP, the new version of the brand’s compact car that runs on LPG as well as petrol. In this way, it achieves a very low level of emissions and a lower refuelling cost, thanks to LPG being considerably cheaper than petrol.

The differences in emission levels are clear. While the LPG engine puts emissions at 127 g/km, the same engine running on petrol reaches 136 g/km. The saving is between 40 and 50% cheaper than petrol.

Turning to some of the model’s features, the engine starts on petrol and switches automatically to LPG shortly after starting. If there is an LPG fault, the computer switches back to petrol mode. This is done to protect the engine and to lubricate it better during critical moments such as a cold start or in periods of low temperatures.

The Citroën C3 VTi 95 GLP will be available only in the Seduction trim, priced at 16,000 euros in Spain. It is a good alternative to the petrol model with the same engine, with no difference from its petrol twin in terms of exterior appearance and safety and comfort equipment.
