Citroën cars made in Spain, models designed to be enjoyed
Citroën’s new promotional campaign showcases the models built at its plants in Vigo and Madrid, most of which are exported to other markets

The automotive industry is important in Spain, and we know it. Some brands have set up assembly plants in our country, while others have arrived through collaborations and business agreements. Many cars driving on roads all over the world have been manufactured in Spain, and one of the brands that forms part of that Spanish industry is Citroën, at its Vigo plant and the one located in Madrid.
Three out of every four of the vehicles that Citroën sells worldwide come out of this factory, making it a plant that even outproduces its output in France. This has led the French brand to launch a campaign under the theme “Made here. Inspired by you“, to highlight the origin of these vehicles with Spanish DNA.

Citroën cars of Spanish origin come with state-of-the-art equipment and are built to the highest standards of quality and safety, allowing them to travel the world without problems and with very good acceptance among buyers in several countries. In terms of figures, Citroën’s history in Spain has produced quite spectacular numbers. Currently, 60% of the Citroën vehicles sold in Spain have been manufactured here.
Today, the two Spanish plants produce the C4 Cactus, of which 250,600 units have been built, 82% of them exported; the C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso, with 1,387,243 units produced at the Vigo plant since 2006 and an export share of 89%; the Citroën C-Elysée, with 151,467 units, 86% of which were destined for export; and finally the Citroën Berlingo, with 2,574,470 units built in Vigo and 80% of production destined for export.
Furthermore, throughout the brand’s history, many legendary Citroën models have been built in our country, a source of pride for the brand. A very important detail that is also a great benefit for our country’s industrial fabric, don’t you think?
