We are getting ready to see what manufacturers have prepared for the largest car market in the world. The time has come for the Shanghai Motor Show, and we have a preview of what we will see there. Citroën wants to be present and has chosen the Chinese city to present two SUV models with which it wants to strengthen its presence in the country. The brand’s main highlight will be the C5 Aircross, a model that has gone from being a saloon to adopting this more dynamic and attractive form for new buyers.

This model will be presented alongside another of the group’s new arrivals, the C-Aircross concept car, which is the basis on which the production version will be built and which will be named C3 Aircross. Although the C5 Aircross will go on sale in the second half of the year in China, it is expected that once launched in the Asian country it will also reach Europe, where a plant will be set up for its manufacturing and marketing on the continent.

Technologically speaking, the C5 Aircross will feature the new Progressive Hydraulic Cushions suspension, which debuts on this model and could appear on other cars from the brand in the near future. In addition, the company’s stand will include an installation that recreates the sensations of this suspension system so that visitors can experience it.

For its part, the C3 Aircross will be ready before the end of the year, but without a set date yet for it to start appearing on the roads of Asia and Europe. The concept that defines the model’s design style presents a different image, more attractive and powerful than its big brother. The opposing doors stand out, giving access to an interior that is spacious for its size. The cabin features a single-spoke steering wheel and a Head Up Display system that extends to the instrument panel.

We don’t know whether the production model will be totally identical to this concept, but we expect it to be very similar to the one that will be seen in Shanghai.
