CUPRA Formentor: in this video you'll see how it is manufactured
In this video you can see how a CUPRA Formentor unit is assembled. The Formentor is the best-selling car in the brand and one of the models built in Martorell.

The CUPRA Formentor has become the best-selling model of the Spanish brand. So it’s worth taking a closer look at it and learning a little more about its manufacturing process. The brand itself has released a video showing how this model is built and everything involved in the assembly line of this car.
It is manufactured at the Martorell plant, and it is a car that was also designed and developed at this plant in Barcelona, so it is a car 100% developed in our country. Around 347,000 units of the Formentor have been sold, so it is a good choice and a car that is present in many markets around the world.

Building one of these cars involves 4,000 people. The automated processes on the line allow a finished car to leave the assembly line every 69 seconds. Several systems have been implemented to ensure that everything is precisely measured and that maximum efficiency is achieved during assembly.

CUPRA FORMENTOR
One of the innovative tools used in assembling this car is deep learning, together with state-of-the-art digital systems. These have been incorporated into the Martorell plant. The Digital Inspector is an automatic station equipped with artificial vision that checks the presence, position and condition of various parts fitted to the vehicle. It handles 60 simultaneous checkpoints focused on the mechanics and wiring.
Another element involved in manufacturing the Formentor is the Smart Plug system, which is also used in the production of the CUPRA León. It handles the installation of more than 90 electronic control units. A remote production control activates all the control units, which manage up to 45 cars at once. Another innovation is the new KTL oven, a 100% electric transverse oven that is the first of its kind used in the Volkswagen Group.
This oven is used for paint drying, with a length much shorter than that of a conventional oven and with a very reduced energy consumption. All these innovations have made the Martorell plant the third most important in the Volkswagen Group in Europe. To achieve this, around 3 billion euros have been invested in modernizing the factory, and it is being upgraded even further.
For now, you can watch the video showing how each CUPRA Formentor unit is manufactured, so you can appreciate this model, the best-selling in the brand, even more.
