Cupra Toledo, are you there?

An internal leak from the plant the brand has in Anhui reveals that Cupra Toledo could arrive in 2025.

Cupra Born 204 Cv (5)

Following the long-awaited arrival of the Cupra Born and the renowned Cupra Formentor, we may be looking at a unique vehicle. The explosion of SUVs in the market has pushed saloons as legendary as the Ford Mondeo, the Volkswagen Passat or even the Renault Talisman into a secondary or tertiary role. There may still be hope for saloons, although we will have to wait at least three years. A leak may confirm that the group’s brand based in Martorell could launch a new, fully electric Cupra Toledo in 2025.

Cupra will continue to bet on SUVs, but a sporty saloon could fit perfectly into its range. The leak came from the Chinese factory in Anhui, where five fully electric models will be assembled: two Cupra and three Volkswagen. While, for the time being, there is no information about the future fully electric saloon from Cupra, all we know is that we could see it in 2025.

In addition to launching this 100% electric sporty saloon from Cupra, the car group also plans to unveil a new SUV that will join the electrified Volkswagen family: the Volkswagen ID. This future electric SUV would sit above the Volkswagen ID.4 and the Volkswagen ID.5. Of course, it would have a much sportier character and would champion exclusivity.

The most important thing about the leak is that the group will bet on saloons. The new models are expected to share platform and mechanics. However, the saloon signed by Cupra will have a sportier touch, as can be seen in the rest of the models in its range. The future Cupra saloon, which could be called the Cupra Toledo, would have a coupé body and a power output that could exceed 300 CV.

Volkswagen Concept Id Vizzion

The future Volkswagen saloon would be based on the Volkswagen ID.Vizzion and could be given the GTX name. It could also reach the market with several power levels and ranges. Likewise, the arrival of the German SUV is planned for 2024, although the two saloons could arrive during 2025. The news doesn’t stop there: Volkswagen would launch a Notch Back vehicle, that is, a fully electric three-box coupé arriving in 2026. Furthermore, this new model is expected to become the flagship of the electrified Volkswagen family.
