Detroit Show: Maserati Quattroporte

Maserati is presenting at NAIAS the sixth generation of the Quattroporte, the imposing sports saloon that will arrive in Spain next March. The new Quattroporte is larger, lighter, more luxurious and offers a top speed of 307 km/h, no less.
The Quattroporte’s engine range will consist of a 3.8-litre V8 and a 3.0-litre V6. These two new engines feature twin-turbo supercharging and have been designed by Maserati Powertrain and built by Ferrari in Maranello. All versions will be fitted with a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The 3.8-litre V8 producing 530 horsepower reaches 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and delivers a top speed of 307 km/h. Compared with the previous Quattroporte Sport GT S, it is 20 km/h faster and has 200 Nm more torque. The V8 version not only represents the highest level of performance the brand has reached for a saloon, but is also more powerful while offering more restrained fuel consumption.
The twin-turbo V6 Q4 version, with all-wheel drive, offers a maximum power of 410 horsepower and a maximum torque of 550 Nm, higher than the maximum torque of the previous Quattroporte Sport GT S. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and its top speed is 285 km/h, just 2 km/h less than the Sport GT S.
The new cabin equipment for these new Quattroporte versions will include WiFi WLAN hotspot, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system with 15 speakers, and an 8.4-inch Maserati Touch Control screen.
As for prices, the trident brand has announced that the new Quattroporte will go on sale in Spain at a price of 169,907 euros for the V8 version and 125,788 euros for the V6 Q4 all-wheel-drive version.
