Did you want an Italdesign Zerouno? Well, you're too late, but you can opt for its successor

The Italian supercar manufacturer, now part of the Volkswagen Group, is preparing the successor to the Zerouno, which will arrive in a few months

If you had put a unit of the Italdesign Zerouno, the exclusive car from the newly created brand of limited-edition supercars born in the Italian workshop, on your wish list, we have some bad news for you. There are none left to sell. The five units of this exclusive supercar presented at the recent Geneva Motor Show have sold out, although for their buyers it meant having to pay a seven-figure sum. Five lucky owners will be able to enjoy this car, although it will still be a while before they can get behind the wheel.

In fact, the second unit produced of this model will travel to Pebble Beach at the end of this month, so it can be shown off and the rest of humanity can see what they have missed by not placing a reservation before it sold out. Unlike the car we saw at the Swiss event, which was dressed in the Italian flag, this one has a red-painted body.

The engine powering this impressive vehicle is the same one that delivers all its power in the Lamborghini Huracan and the Audi R8, a 5.2-litre V10 block producing 610 CV. The model that will be seen at the American event will be red with carbon-fibre finishes and a fairly prominent rear spoiler. Although they are based on a basic model, each of the five customers chose the finishes of the car they ordered, so all of them will be very different from one another.

For the brand, these super-limited editions are a fundamental part of their work, and they want to combine their experience in engineering, design and production with the creation of these limited-edition cars. With this, they want each customer to have exactly the car they want. Their plan now is to finish building the remaining three cars. But let’s not get nervous, because if you want a car of this type, the roadster version of the Zerouno could be announced definitively within a few months. Of course, also in super-limited edition, so you’ll have to hurry to reserve one.
