It seems that Hyundai will unveil the 2018 version of the Accent on February 16, but they don’t want to make us wait that long, so they have given us a preview of its design in this promotional video. The car has only been seen conveniently camouflaged during tests carried out on the streets and roads of San Francisco, so this is the first time we have had the chance to see some details of its bodywork and what it will bring in terms of design.

The first thing we can see is a new front grille, which probably comes from the Hyundai Verna Yuena, a model from the brand that is only sold in China and which has served as the basis for including it in this new version of the Accent. We will also see a set of daytime running lights with LED technology, as well as small fog lights, in the form of small circular headlights located on both sides of the grille. On the rear there are also changes to the design of the taillights, which helps give it a fresh look.

The data offered by the brand for the North American markets, since it is at the Toronto Auto Show where this model will be presented, indicates that it will keep the 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, which will provide the driver with 167 CV. The 2018 version will continue to have a six-speed transmission, whether it is the automatic gearbox or the manual one.

In terms of styling, the design seeks to offer a greater and better presence for the car. The lines come closer to what a 21st-century saloon should be, more elegant and offering an interesting and dynamic image. As for equipment, we still don’t know the details, but once February 16 arrives, we expect to obtain all the data we still need to know. Enjoy the video in the meantime!
