Do you play music while driving? These are the most-played songs in the car
A study reveals which songs are most played while driving
Music lovers know it for a fact: we can’t live without music, and it’s also true that, for most people, being accompanied by the right melody increases happiness or, at the very least, reduces sadness.
That’s why, when someone gets in their car to go about their daily chores, caught up in journeys that are often tedious, long-distance, in dense traffic or, simply, driving their vehicle to get from point A to point B, they decide to put on their favourite music and listen to it to make the journey more bearable.
Within that musical selection, the variety and options are almost endless, which makes it very difficult to know which songs are most listened to while driving, but someone has investigated and concluded that there is indeed a list of the most popular tracks.
It was the car rental company Avis that carried out a national and European study, from which two rankings were generated: the most listened-to songs in the car in Spain and, on the other hand, in Europe.
The most listened-to songs while driving in Spain
After analysing the list of the most played tracks in cars circulating around Spain, the rock character of this “playlist” stands out, since half of these tracks are by groups or artists pigeonholed in melodies close to rock and roll or its subgenres.
Likewise, a preference for foreign, English-language music can be detected, despite the fact that these are the most listened-to songs in a car according to Spanish users.
Be that as it may, the Top 10 of the tracks most played by Spaniards while using their car is as follows:
| Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody | |
| Queen – We will rock you | |
| Bon Jovi – Runaway | |
| The Beatles – Ticket to Ride | |
| Bruno Mars – 24k Magic | |
| Loquillo – Cadillac Solitario | |
| Led Zeppelin – Rock and roll | |
| Rihanna – Shut Up and Drive | |
| Roxette – Sleeping in My Car | |
| Justin Timberlake – Can´t Stop the Feeling |
And if at national level we saw a predominance of
English-language music
, with the exception of the great Loquillo, in Europe the entry of the legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd only confirms that the audio systems in Europe and Spain enjoy rock.
We can see this in the following list
| Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody | |
| Queen – We will rock you | |
| Bon Jovi – Runaway | |
| Bruno Mars – 24k Magic | |
| Justin Timberlake – Can´t Stop the Feeling | |
| The Beatles – Ticket to Ride | |
| Survivor – Eye of the tiger | |
| Lynyrd Skynyrd – Sweet Home Alabama | |
| Rihanna – Shut Up and Drive | |
| Led Zeppelin – Rock and roll |
only vary in order from the podium onwards.
A podium led by Queen with two of their anthems, We Will Rock You and the melodic masterpiece par excellence of the British band, Bohemian Rhapsody, and the Americans Bon Jovi behind them with another of their biggest hits, which lifted them to fame on the glam rock and hard rock scene of the 80s, Runaway.
