Does a wider tyre mean it's better?
Interesting video showing how a Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé behaves with tyres very different from the ones the German brand usually fits as standard.

I’ve had many occasions to discuss this topic with numerous friends: whether a wider tyre means more grip, whether it’s better to leave the sizes as they are, whether a narrower one helps the vehicle consume less, whether tyre pressure comes into play…
As you can see, there are countless variables involved here. Well, according to the video I’ve posted below, many of your questions on the subject may become much clearer thanks to the chance to see how a vehicle of the stature of a Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé performs on 125 mm wide tyres.
As you know, we’re talking about a vehicle equipped with a V8 engine which, in this case and thanks to the Performance Package, delivers a maximum output of 480 horsepower. Naturally, it comes as standard with high-performance tyres which, on the rear axle, are homologated at a width of 255 mm.
