Drag race: Can the most powerful combustion SUV beat the Tesla Model X?
The Tesla Model X P100D goes head to head in a drag race against another SUV, this time the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and its 707 CV of power.
The Tesla Model X P100D is one of the fastest SUVs on the market. In fact, we have already seen it beat the Lamborghini Urus in a drag race. However, the 650 CV, 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 850 Nm of torque falls somewhat short when compared with the performance of the fastest combustion SUV in the world: the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Can the Tesla Model X leave another “super SUV” in the dust in a drag race? The carwow team has the answer.
The performance of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
As a reminder, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk features a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine that produces 707 CV of power and 873 Nm of torque. Thanks to this powertrain, the American SUV is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. In addition, the car covers the ¼ mile in under 12 seconds. These are figures more typical of supercars than of an SUV weighing more than 2,429 kg.

Even so, it is hard to believe that the Tesla Model X could be dethroned by another SUV, although anything is possible… We leave you with the video so you can find out for yourselves.
