Emov: 4 new features to make electric carsharing even more appealing
Emov is introducing several new features to its service, including the launch of more affordable usage packages.
Emov, the Madrid electric carsharing service, has grown exponentially since its launch at the end of 2016. In a year and a half, Emov’s fleet has reached more than 180,000 users in the Spanish capital, but competition is becoming increasingly fierce (Car2Go, Zity, Wible). For this reason, the carsharing company that operates the Citroën C-Zero has launched a series of new features to make its service even more attractive: some of its cars will be equipped with child seats, more affordable usage packs, and a series of discounts on other electric mobility services, such as eCooltra (electric motorbikes).
Chicco child seats in Emov cars

A portion of Emov’s fleet will feature child seats with the aim of making travel easier for families travelling with children. The seats in question are the Chicco YOUniverse Fix model, which is approved as Group 1/2/3, meaning it is suitable for children weighing between 9 kg and 36 kg, which covers children aged roughly 1 to 12 years.
Usage packs at €0.20 per minute

Emov has increased its base rate by 1 cent to €0.25. However, the carsharing company now offers the option of cheaper minute packs, with which you will receive a significant saving of up to 20% off the base rate. Emov will offer three usage packs with the following minutes: 100, 200 and 400. With these options, the total saving is up to €20.
Alliance with eCooltra
Another major new feature from Emov is its new alliance with another leading shared electric mobility service, eCooltra. The carsharing and motorbike-sharing companies have joined forces so that customers who use one service receive discounts on the other. This symbiotic partnership will operate in both Madrid and Lisbon.
Expanded service area: 75 square metres

Finally, Emov’s service area has been expanded to a total of 75 square kilometres. With this expansion, Emov’s perimeter now covers the entire Las Tablas neighbourhood in Madrid, while other areas have seen slight downward adjustments given the low demand for the service in those zones.
