Emov surpasses 100,000 registered users in just 100 days!

Emov has reached 100,000 users within the first 100 days of service. Thanks to this form of mobility, more than 175 tonnes of CO2 have been prevented from being released into the atmosphere.

Emov, the car-sharing company based in Madrid, has registered 100,000 users in the first 100 days since it began operating in the Spanish capital.

This remarkable increase in users in such a short time is due to the convenience and comfort of the service. Using it exempts you from the hated traffic restrictions that have generated so much controversy between supporters and detractors at Madrid City Council. Speed limits or parking restrictions in the city’s central area would be some examples.

The company’s vehicles have covered a total of 1,800,000 km since the initiative was launched. This flow of electric car traffic has prevented more than 175 tonnes of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere.

Fernando Izquierdo, Managing Director of emov, is very pleased with the increase in users and has stated the following: “This rapid growth, which has no precedent among car-sharing companies worldwide, has enabled emov to consider, in the medium term, increasing the electric vehicle fleet and expanding the service’s operating area. Our goal is for more and more citizens of Madrid to be able to use a sustainable, innovative and intelligent mobility alternative.”

The type of user who uses the emov car the most is mostly ‘millennial’. 47% of users are between 18 and 35 years old. The average duration of trips is around 20 minutes, with an average trip cost of €3.80 from the moment the car is unlocked until it is parked and locked via the app. Booking the car has no cost for the customer, who only pays for actual use.

In these first months of service, some users have made more than 200 trips. The longest journey recorded was that of a user who managed to drive 82 km through the streets of Madrid. Likewise, some cars have made up to 26 trips in a single day.
