Rumours had been circulating about a facelift for the Ferrari 458 Italia, and although at first it seemed the redesign would be limited to the engine, the car’s styling changes are set to be even more significant, and it will be unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

The new version of the Ferrari 458 Italia will be called M458-T and will replace its 4.5-litre engine, which produces 570 CV, with a unit based on the Ferrari California T. That means a 3.9-litre V8 and output that will reach 670 CV, although the reference model is “only” capable of 552 CV.

The project was developed in secret under the codename 142M until it was well advanced, when it was made public to build up the anticipation needed for us to receive it eagerly at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

This revision of the model is said to feature new air intakes and more pronounced side blades, which will help airflow to the turbos, brakes and intercoolers. The exterior of the Ferrari M458-T will also feature LED-technology lights, as well as redesigned bumpers and improved aerodynamics to boost cornering performance.

As for the interior, the cabin will get the same Harman-Kardon infotainment system fitted to the Ferrari California-T, along with a reversing camera system. The Harman-Kardon system includes Apple CarPlay, as seen in the California-T, so this model will offer especially good compatibility with that brand’s devices.
